ONCE AN EAGLE, ALWAYS AN EAGLE 🦅 // Once a year, some of our elementary retirees gather for a luncheon, where they catch up with one another, share memories, and listen to a guest speaker. This year, Dr. Megan Ward had the honor of serving as their keynote speaker. #CVproud

HE'S RUNNING INTO RETIREMENT // We share with mixed emotions that our therapy dog, Banjo, is stepping into a well-deserved retirement this summer. Thank you for welcoming Banjo into our school community and for offering him endless amounts of love and support during his tenure with CV. Said Banjo's handler, Alexis Toburen, our district social worker, "Banjo has shown me the true power of animals and their impact on students and staff daily. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share him with you, and I know he will miss coming to school each day." Please help us celebrate Banjo and wish him well as he heads into a well-deserved retirement. Video montage of Banjo courtesy Ms. Toburen: https://www.wevideo.com/view/3466374730

🦋BUTTERFLIES + 🪻FLOWERS + 🌱PLANTS = FUN // On a beautiful spring day recently, 2nd-grade Mountain Lions at Middlesex Elementary School visited Hershey Gardens, where they learned about Monarch butterflies and spring blooms, and even taught the staff at the Gardens their Monarch butterfly song, which was a creative and unique way to learn the parts of a butterfly. 📸 courtesy Mrs. Shannon Weary. #CVproud

🎣 CORE MEMORIES MADE // Middlesex Elementary School 5th-graders spent the day outdoors to learn, hands-on, more about what's around them. The learning experience was part of the school's annual Environmental Education Days, which includes a special 🐟 catch-and-release fishing event. Special thanks to all of our amazing staff and volunteers who work so hard to make this wonderful day both possible and memorable for our students. 📸 courtesy Mrs. Stephanie Eldridge, Middlesex Elementary principal. #CVproud

MISSION: RESCUE FRED // Students in Mrs. Melissa Hester's third-grade class at Middlesex Elementary School were challenged with saving their gummy worm friend, Fred, from drowning. They used their problem-solving and communication skills in this daring and brave hands-on STEM activity to figure out how to put a life preserver on Fred by only using paper clips. Great news: Fred is safe! Photos courtesy Ms. Abigail Rudy, a student teacher who is spending the semester with our Mountain Lion friends.
