Parent Pick-Up Procedures:
At Silver Spring Elementary, our primary purpose is to ensure the safety of the students as they leave Silver Spring. For this reason, the following protocol will be effective immediately to create a more efficient and safe system for picking up students at the end of the school day.
• If your child normally rides the bus home and you need to do a parent pickup, please email Mrs. Trump ([email protected]) & Ms. Jackson ([email protected]) in the Silver Spring Office by 2PM to ensure that we have time to add your child to the parent pickup list.
» We cannot guarantee that any calls or changes after 2PM will be processed in time before dismissal.
•As you arrive at the top of the hill at Silver Spring, continue to travel to the rear parking lot (by the playground equipment).
•Follow the directions of the staff who will direct you into two lines on either side of the orange cones. Please stay in your lane until your child is delivered to you.
•Once you have arrived at the pickup zone, have the QR code from your placard scanned and ready to enter your pickup group number.
•Fill in the group number which our staff will share with you and then click “Submit” so our staff can gather the students and bring them outside.
•Please wait until you are in the “coned” pickup area and have your group number before submitting your pickup form.
•Please have your placard visible so our staff can take your child to the appropriate vehicle. Our staff will assist students with getting into each vehicle.
•Once all students are safely in their vehicles, our staff will direct vehicles to begin exiting the pickup zone.
•We will dismiss all cars from one side of the cones and then dismiss all cars from the next side of the cones.
